Inserts Wedding Invitation - DIY? I design my own invitations and assembling them as well. The design I chose is enclosed in a tangled pocketfold to the invitation in the center with three inserts in the right pocket.
I have ordered all my stationary happens tomorrow and I want to have my design finished today so I can take everything to the printers tomorrow and sent a few days.
The problem I encounter is that I had originally planned to have three inserts labeled:
Route, RSVP, and transmitted to
However, now I'm second guessing "out of towners" insert. Everyone is invited to both the ceremony and reception so I do not need a reception card. If I include it in the insert in town, I wanted to include information on lodging, meals, and attractions (with 95% of my visitors come from outside the state). I liked the idea of ae‹ae‹a city out of the bag ready for when they arrived in the city with local goodies and such.
What is your opinion? Is there another type of insert that I could send instead of "out of town"? How did you title your "out of town" insert?
I do Route, RSVP, and Hosting.
What I did I put a bag in each guest room at the hotel. I got a group rate at a hotel and then just laid there bags. I have included some bottled water, snacks, and information on how to get places. For example, I went to the Chamber of Commerce and has won several city maps. I have also included written instructions to the nearest shopping center, cinema, and for the bride and the groom's house - since many people had never been to our house.
If there is something special in the region, put that on there. For example, a planetarium and an aquarium that is very nice, or if you live in an area with particular things, like a cave or as nice syrup farm in Vermont include indications for this.
For me, I included a card there. I made a small card for people with visual Corel Draw. I drew the main roads out there and put small images to rehearsals, church, reception and the hotel there. I typed the instructions written on the back but I was able to do b / c it was so simple. The road from the hotel was was the same path to get to the rehearsal and the Church. The only think that had more than 2 lines was for directions to get to the reception.
I think your idea of ae‹ae‹DIY is really great! Instead of having an "out of town" insert, why not create a wedding web page for visitors from outside? They are usually free and a really good resource because people can access all information in one place, at any time. You can include links to hotels and tourist sites and even have a place for them to post comments on the site!
