Christmas Tree Decorating Themes

Millions of people display Christmas trees in their homes each year, and many of these trees have the same decorations year after year: round glass ornaments, traditional lights, some tinsel and a star or angel on top. After a while, the traditional decorations start to get a bit boring! Why not spice up the holiday season this year with a tree decorated on the theme in a unique and unusual? We have some great tips and ideas to help you get started. Here are some things you will want to consider in your quest for a new look.

Style:
While there is no need to decorate your tree to match the decor of your home is a likely result because your home and tree both will reflect your sense of style and taste decoration. You also want to make sure your tree looks like it belongs in your home, that is, you do not want a tree that looks like "in its place" with its environment.

Color:
A set of complementary colors between your room and the tree always creates a pleasing appearance. This does not mean you have to match your room completely, but some try to tie the colors together is always helpful. A room with black, brown, beige carpets and upholstery and cream sounds wonderful with a tree with white lights and silver, white and gold ornaments. A room with brightly colored furniture and walls much like a tree and lights with bright decorations that coordinate with the furniture. When choosing colors, remember to have fun!

Scale:
Keep in mind that larger trees need larger decorations. Just as it would not look right to put 12 cm in diameter ornaments on a tree 5 feet high, it would also seem strange to cover a 9 foot tall tree with tiny ornaments 1 inch. Remember that the size of your tree should also be consistent with the size of the space. If you have a large hall or room with a vaulted ceiling, choose a large tree that will make a big impression. For small areas such as bathrooms or hallways, small tree table can make a stylish statement.

Theme:
Now for the fun part selecting the theme of your tree! If you have a special hobby or passion that you enjoy, feel free to reflect that fun in a tree. For example, if you like cooking, put a tree in the kitchen and decorate it with cookie cutters tied with bright ribbons, colorful recipe cards, cinnamon sticks, and homemade cookies made of sugar! If you have a collection of some kind, a Christmas tree is a great way to show it. For example, themed trees are very popular for people who collect model trains, cars, motorcycles, etc. Tie your collection to the tree and use them as decorations. If you have a child to a special tree for their room decorated with things that kids love. Some good choices might include crayons, paint sets, books, small, chalk, small cars and dolls. Of course, when decorating trees for the children, it is important to choose age-appropriate decorations. For very young children, make sure you do not decorate with anything that could be a choking hazard.

Whatever your preference, there is no limit to how you can express yourself with your Christmas tree. After all, a decoration of your home and should reflect your tastes and your family! Be creative this Christmas season and think outside the box - you can really surprise you with a wonderful result!
