KCB Promises total excitation Bankika Rally this Sunday This Sunday (20th) all roads will be at the head of Athi River, on the outskirts of the city of Nairobi where the third edition of the Kenya Motor Sports Club (KMSC) organized Bankika KCB Rally kick-off. This year's rally attracted 52 riders who will battle for the top positions and fighting to win the crucial points for the season.
Twice former champion Carl Tundo, leads the list of drivers. A total of 40 drivers entered the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) category with 13 enrolled in the class 2 wheel drive. Depending on the route KMSC event, the rally will be out registered outside KCB branch Ongata Rongai early Sunday from 9am.
The circuit of 145.60 km drivers will cover a total of eight steps that take place around Kitengela, Stony Athi, Mathatani, Lukenya and Athi River. The rally is co-sponsored by Pelican, Identisys, ALS, iWay Africa, Keringet and track car. This year all the best drivers are sponsored by companies of fuel, and each will fight to win the rally for their corporate sponsor.
Tundo will be followed by the rapid increase in young Peter Horsey, who teams up with Dez Page-Morris in the crowd by taking "Moto Moto" Datsun Debe changed their van. Hinga 2008 teamed up with Cross Country Rally Car Champion Navigator class Ongalo Norris in a Mitsubishi Evolution. Sandeep and his cousin Gurdeep Jandu Mehangra other hand hope to consolidate their third division lead.
Other top drivers include defending champion and leader of the series Alastair Cavenagh Dalbir oil team is back with Gavin Laurence in their Mitsubishi evo9, Baldev Singh both Chagas and Azar Olibya Racing, Jas Mangat of Uganda and Ian Duncan -Now on its second release in its National Oil evo9 Mitsubishi. Meanwhile, the battle for points classics Cup cars are also expected to visit some of the Athi River with Gusto Stefano Roca anxious to maintain his lead.
With his victory in the inaugural season at Voi where he led the rally from start to finish under the guidance of his brother Adrien, Cavenagh is back with the championship won browser Gavin Laurence and looks forward to a good fight with Tundo Ian and others.
Adnan Suhail and Absalom Aswani will be showing their stuff in the formula of the two categories in their Daihatsu special. Leonardo Varese champion is back after jumping, and Voi is so old champion Kirandeep Chana (VW Golf GTi). "Haraka Mamas' new crew ladies including Joan Nesbitt and Dr. Tamara Jones K (Toyota Tercel RSI) - are ready to fight after exciting debut in Voi. Voi 2WD winner James Kirimi Nadeem Kana and Mombasa are also made to offend in their cars VW Golf GTI.
