Holiday Season Greetings

Do you think Christians are offended by the holiday greeting "Happy Holidays" or "Happy Holidays"?

Because most of us are not really.
We are not offended other vows.
For example, it would not bother me one bit if the clerk at WalMart wished me a "Cool Yule". I smile and wish him the same thing.
I do not mind hearing "Happy Hanukkah" ..

No, what Christians are unhappy, is that some people want to take away the greeting "Merry Christmas" in the lexicon of the season.
C'mon ... honest it hurt anyone if they so wish "Merry Christmas" during this time of year?
Why is this a big deal, anyway?

if you can, but Happy Hanukkah we can, but Merry Christmas. We must stop trying to get out and start putting in. people focus on the what not the why. I am not a Christian or Jewish, but I feel this time of year is not about religion it is the mind. Being able to give to others and ask nothing in return. This is a good person and realize that we are all in this together. But thats just me.

I know I am not and no one I know is. They are shocked by various prohibitions to say "Merry Christmas" ..

Christians are showing a model of strategic outrage at "Happy Holidays" as if it were something new and sinister, to advance their agenda to get the privileged status of religion.

It does not bother me one bit. I like to say Happy holidays just to throw people off.

Of course not. I am a Christian and prefer to say "Happy Holidays". I live in an area with many pagans, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, atheists and other non-Christians. "Happy Holidays" is a nice catch-all that I can use it without having to guess the religious beliefs of others.

Angel, as a Christian, I am not offended by these greetings. This is the greeting that I like. :)

I'm not saying it's a big deal. I fear not hear Merry Christmas - I tell myself. What irritates me are the babies who whine about "Happy Holidays". It's completely irrational and arrogant to expect everyone to conform to your personal beliefs for you.

I am not at all offended by these greetings.I also see nothing wrong with Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I'm not offended at any holiday greeting. I am shocked by the prohibition of a holiday greeting because it is religious. It is a violation of my constitutional right to freedom of religion.

Maybe. I lost track of things that might offend Christians, to be honest.

I think it's more politically correct crowd who oppose things like manhole covers, or insist on the garbage can not be placed in black garbage bags in Birmingham because of the apparently racially bringing this object to what people say at Christmas. As an atheist, I do not care what people say so, or have met someone who does. Hell, I had Christmas cards Muslims before now.

There are those who are out to remove Christ from all aspects of our lives, including Christmas, which is the season when we celebrate his birthday.

Many companies freely admit to outlaw the term "Merry Christmas" in their stores, because it might "offend" someone.

Well, it does not shock me when Christ is taken out of my life without my approval.
So my right to be offended by the removal of this term outweighs your right to be offended that I am offended.

Many people, myself included, refuse to do business with companies that do not use the term "Merry Christmas". Other terms you mention are ok AS Merry Christmas is not prohibited.

You have a very Merry Christmas.
