Dogs and cats are the animals most popular these days, with retail stores charge between one and three thousand dollars to the fund for purebred dogs. There are shelters to adopt dogs and you can not care if the dog is a mix of race, but in all cases, animals are an investment in time and cost. They must be fed, taken to the veterinarian, given shots, and in the case of dogs, washed and groomed. For that, we own the rights to companionship and often some relief drawn. Even if they like the exercise, they can be flat as well as animals and are extremely affectionate and playful, like Chihuahuas are the smallest breed, weighing at least two to four adult books. They do not require much space and are ideal companions for adults in the apartments and families with older children who can appreciate the fragility of the tiny Chihuahua. They come in varieties of long and short hair, so they must be dressed in sweater and slippers when walking in cold temperatures.

Number five in popularity is Maltese, one of the first purebred to be exhibited at dog shows in North America. The Maltese dog is affectionate, intelligent and strong, and loves to romp and play - especially with children. This breed of tiny steps up to 10 inches at the shoulder and weigh up to seven pounds maximum. The Maltese dog has a beautiful, long, pure white, silky coat that hangs straight to the ground, a central part from nose to tip of tail. Expressive dark eyes and black nose, lips and eye rims enhance the Maltese dog.
