Card Maker

How do I know which is my sound card manufacturer is?

I know, it might be a stupid question, but I am a bit computer challenged and I need your help. Thank you!
Ps I am not tech-savvy to do what you say easy to understand.

If you have installed Windows XP, then:

1. Go to Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices.

2. Of all the tabs at the top of this window, select Audio.

3. Just keep in mind the name of the default device listed in the audio playback.

4. Right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager in the left pane.

5. Click on the + sign of the Sound, video and game in the right pane.

6. Double-click on such a device name that is fairly close to the one you noted in step 3 here. You will see the manufacturer's name on the field.

and uhh ... If you purchased your computer of some companies like .. Dell or something .... they will have their info on their site ...

You can download a program called Belarc. This program will be implemented and the profile of your entire machine for your reference. If this is the integrated sound, it will tell you the name and brand of your motherboard. You can download the program here:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

In Windows XP, you can go to Start / AllPrograms / Accessories /
System Tools and click System Information. You can then navigate to any piece of equipment you want information. It or goto the System icon in Control Panel. Click the Hardware tab. Then click the button device to manage. You can navigate to your hardware from there too. The following is to shoot the cover of your machine and have a look at the card itself. If it is an onboard device, then you can consult the motherboard manufacturer that is embossed on the card itself. Find the model number and it should tell you everything you need to know. Hope this helps.
