Baseball Birthday Cards

Max is collecting baseball cards. he was 65 that her aunt gave her for her birthday, and he bought 20 more each?

weeks. The total number of cards that Max has, after weeks where x is given by the following equations?
a. y = 20 x 65
b. y = 65 x 20
C. y = 20 + x
d. y = 85x

the answer is B

y = 65 x 20

because it starts with 65 cards he got from his aunt (65)
Then, every week we buy more than 20 cards (20x)

Thus, to know how many cards he has, you multiply the 20 (because thats how much buy every week) by the number of weeks, it was collected.

Make a chart - show how many baseball cards he has, after 0 weeks, 1 week, 2 weeks, etc., then compare them with the cards you made for each equation.

for example, Table C for the answer say
x, y
0, 20
1, 21
2, 22

Gotta Luv multiple choice ...

After one week, it has 65 +20 = 85 cards (x = 1, y = 85)
After 2 weeks, 85 +20 = 105 cards (x = 2, y = 105)

Plug these values aeaea, b, c, d and see if they work ...

b. y = 65 x 20

b) 65 x 20

it would be Y = 65 x 20 bcoz he has the 65 cards with him, and he wins every week 20.so if x is not think so. weeks, so if x = 1,2,3,4 ....... u get the amount of cards he has in the first, second, third weeks, respectively ..
hope this helped
